Time Magazine Captures Asian Elephants

In his new book, Vanishing Giants, Photographer Palani Mahon journeys across Asia, searching for the soul of the asian elephant.

In the Love Brand offices we have been captured not only by the beautifully captured images but also the story they tell and we can't wait to read the book. TIME Magazine has published these photos in a preview.

Here are some of the pictures and the story they tell.

An August Beast
While it's relative in Africa flourishes, the elephant population of Asia numbers less than 40,000. Photographer, Mohan travelled the length and breadth of Asian Elephant's habitat, covering 11 countries in 6 years.
Good Luck
In Sri Lanka it is considered auspicious to carry a new born child beneath an elephant.
Watchful
This male elephant is eyeing a female in the photographer's camping party.
No Words
A tear runs down the cheek of a distressed elephant.
Up Close
An elephant's skin may look tough but in fact it is very sensitive and takes time to heal.
